stitch and embellish

or maybe its the other way round! Either way is a fantastic way to get creative with wool fabrics and yarns..and maybe add in other fabrics to get really wild...and you know how I like to be wild and free!

I had 2 wonderful workshops last week...I just love getting creative with others and seeing how they take on board what I offer ...and run with it!
Here's a little reverse applique flower workshop...I love the colours Julie came up with...

Jo and Kate thought they'd come simply to make a bag from their felted jumpers...little did they know it was to be a real arty creative opportunity...and I think they did brilliantly, what do you think?

some careful designing,  some needle and machine embroidery...

the exiting moment where you turn the inside out bag the right way round...and it seems it will never appear...

ta da! two fab bags!

and I've been inspired to play with some new felty ideas and a new bowl shape...loved the challenge of making the form and adding free machine embroidery and can't wait to do more...after all it's not long till Woolfest now...June 27th and 28th, get it in your diary if it's not there already!

getting exited now...loving the textures and tactile quality of these sea themed vessels...
hope you're having a great weekend...must away now to be ready to watch the last night of the Chelsea Flower show and all the exitements of the week rounded up, like Marks and Spence and Big Red London Buses, it's such a great British institution and I love it!

see you soon xx

as spring meanders through May (or is it the other way around?) and we coast the minor ups and downs of life...like GCSE's and the menopause (great combo!)

at present I am dealing with some menopausal issues (hands up of you are too!) which for me has meant adrenal challenges and lack of sleep and at times exhaustion, my body is definitely shouting at me at the moment cos I haven't been listening! Louise Hay is always right on the nail...and I realised that the symptoms weren't getting worse because the menopause was 'getting worse', but I was creating them!! I realised I had had a crazy few months trying to do too many things mental not physical and not realising I was simply overusing my MIND!

and as I learnt today, from Robert Holden and Louise Hay in an interview from the Hay House Summit
the world is not a physical place but a state of mind

So I am trying to redress my balance by doing less of everything and allowing myself real time off and relaxation. The sneaky thing about stress is you don't realise you are stresssssed till it's kind of too late! Louise has rescued me again with some great affirmations (thank you!) and I am trying to remember less is more

Do nothing and nothing is left undone...Tao Te Ching:
The Tao does nothing, but leaves nothing undone.
If powerful men could center themselves in it
the whole world would be transformed by itself,
in its natural rhythms.
When life is simple,
pretenses fall away;
our essential natures shine through.
By not wanting, there is calm,
and the world will straighten itself.
When there is silence,
one finds the anchor of the universe within oneself.
mmm there's food for thought and some calm blues...

I found this In Wilko's stationary and bought a file and notebook to remind me...isn't it terrific advice!

and I keep juicing to start my day

thanks Kris Carr for your crazy sexy book and website and utubes full of great advice:

and even the left overs go out to our hens to make them happy...

and simple things bring pleasure like this stash of eggs hidden on a high straw bale by those same happy and very clever hens!

and seedlings growing at last...

and sunny days and rainy days and green lush vistas...

 All is Well...

have a lovely week!
